If your baby has been quite happily breastfeeding then suddenly starts to refuse the breast it could be a 'nursing strike'.
When your baby is ready to wean, this usually happens over a period of time. If your baby stops nursing suddenly, it’s more likely to be nursing strike than weaning.
A strike can be brought on by your baby having a sore throat, stuffy nose or ear ache, for example, which make it difficult for them to feed. Speak to your doctor or health visitor if your baby has gone on strike.
