Becoming a Breastfeeding Peer Supporter

youtube-video-thumbnail

Peer supporters are local women who have breastfed at least one child. You will take part in a training programme, receive on-going development and supervision.

To become a peer supporter, you need to be a good listener, sympathetic and able to give simple information to support womens' choices.

You’ll work alongside professionals and can speak to women at breastfeeding drop ins, children’s centres, children and family Hubs, health clinics, your local hospital or antenatal sessions.

"I've enjoyed the breastfeeding training so much. Our trainer was just amazing; so welcoming, friendly and knowledgeable. I've met some amazing fellow breastfeeding mummies and I'm hoping to go on and help others with their journeys."
