Who is Beside You

Beside You is here to help you make breastfeeding work for you and your baby.

Beside You has lots of practical information for all stages of your breastfeeding journey including what to expect during the early days and tips on feeding in public. We also list all local support available to you.

Our social media channels support and engage local families in the issues that matter to them.

We gather views from our local community through surveys and engagement on our social media channels. We also work closely with health professionals and voluntary groups, offering them a chance to share their experiences with local families and celebrate and support each other on their breastfeeding journeys.

We offer local businesses and organisations the opportunity to show their support with a Beside You window sticker, plus a breastfeeding friendly toolkit that details how they can support families at their venue.

Beside You was launched by Medway Council in 2016 to support and empower women to breastfeed for as long as they want to. In January 2020 Kent Community Health NHS Foundation Trust (KCHFT) joined the campaign to support families in Kent.
